A new spin on energy production
When it comes to wind energy, bigger is not always better. There are countless applications for smaller wind turbines. Seaforth Energy Inc., located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is producing a 50 kW turbine that has been proven to withstand the harshest weather conditions, and it small enough to be used for municipal power generation, diesel-based utilities, agriculture, businesses, and industry. These turbines are easily installed without the use of a crane, they feature highly safe braking systems, and have been tested to withstand winds of up to 214 km/h.
