A blended approach to cement emissions reduction

The Lafarge Group employs 84,000 people in 79 countries and it owns and operates the only operating cement plant in Atlantic Canada, located in Brookfield, Nova Scotia. This plant offers products used in all types of construction.

Lafarge, in partnership with Carbon Sense Solutions and the University of New Brunswick, recently undertook a plan to reduce the production of a product called clinker at its Brookfield, Nova Scotia plant, with industrial by-products and limestone, reducing emissions by up to 24%. The project has global potential within the cement sector.
