Low Income Pharmacare (drug coverage) for Children

The Nova Scotia government funds a program that provides prescription drug coverage for children of low-income families. Families pay $5 per prescription no matter how much the medication costs.

The Department of Community Services also provides prescription drug coverage for more than 50,000 people who receive assistance from the department including income assistance, Disability Support Program and family and community supports. (See our page on this program.)

Eligibility

The program is available for families who receive the Nova Scotia Child Benefit.
