Apply for a no record marriage search
For marriages outside of Canada, you may need to provide a document proving you’re not currently married in Nova Scotia.
If you live in Nova Scotia and are planning to get married outside Canada, you may need to provide a document (commonly called a Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage) proving you’re not currently married in Nova Scotia.
In Nova Scotia, Vital Statistics doesn’t issue a certificate for proof that you’re not currently married in the province. Vital Statistics can only provide a letter showing the results of a Nova Scotia Vital Statistics marriage search.
