North Beaver Bank Community Wind Project

Description

This is to advise that on November 5, 2013, Scotian WindFields Inc., Scotian Wind Inc., and WEB Wind Energy North America Inc. registered the proposed North Beaver Bank Community Wind Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to construct and operate an 8.0 MW wind project at a site in the community of North Beaver Bank, approximately 14 km north of Sackville, Nova Scotia in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence Summer/Fall 2014 with operations to begin Fall/Winter 2014.

Minister's Decision

On January 6, 2014, the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:28k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
