Background: Food and Nutrition Support for Licensed Child Care Centres Advisory Group

The Food and Nutrition Support for Licensed Child Care Centres Advisory Group (FNSLCC) is co-chaired by representatives from the Departments of Community Services and Health Promotion and Protection and includes a parent representative, representatives from government, as well as members from the childcare sector and the Early Childhood Education training institutions.

The FNSLCC Advisory Group was formed in December 2007, on recommendations from a report entitled, Food and Nutrition Support in Licensed Child Care Centres in Nova Scotia: Environmental Scan and Literature Review (PDF).

This report was completed for the Departments of Community Services, and Health Promotion and Protection in an effort to identify ways to enhance food and nutrition support provided to licensed child care facilities in Nova Scotia.
