Use of Highway Right-of-Way for Pole Lines Permit

Who Needs This Permit?
Anyone who wants to erect and maintain poles within a highway right-of-way in Nova Scotia.

Where can you get this Permit and / or further information?
Area Manager
Any district or area office
N.S. Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal

Application Forms & Process:
An application form can be obtained from the nearest district or area office of the N.S. Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. When completed, it is submitted to the Area Manager. A review is completed by the Operations Supervisor and Area Manager.

If all requirements are met and the application is approved, the permit will be sent to the applicant by mail. If the application is not approved, the applicant will be notified by mail.
 
Waiting Period:
1 to 10 business days
Provided that all the items that must accompany the application have been received
 
Expiry & Renewal:
This permit does not expire, unless there is a special condition which will be stated on the permit.
 
Price:
Free

A deposit may be required to ensure the site is left in the proper condition.
