Public consultation: monitoring public drinking water supplies

Government is looking for input on proposed changes to the Guidelines for Monitoring Public Drinking Water Supplies Part II. The proposed changes are to the sections about lead and copper sampling. Owners of non-transient registered public drinking water supplies are invited to submit their feedback by 6 August 2021.

Proposed changes

The proposed revisions to lead and copper sampling affect sections 6, 7 and 8 of the Guidelines for Monitoring Public Drinking Water Supplies-Part II. The changes are necessary to make sure drinking water supplies comply with maximum acceptable concentrations introduced by Health Canada in 2019.

Eligibility

Non-transient registered public drinking water supplies are invited to submit their feedback.

Non-transient registered public drinking water supplies provide water to the same 25 or more people for at least 6 months of the year. Examples include mobile home parks, waterline associations, condo corporations, retirement homes, hospitals, daycares and schools.
