Description
This is to advise that on October 18, 2013 Scotian WindFields Inc., Scotian Wind Inc., and WEB Wind Energy North America Inc. will register the Nine Mile River Community Wind Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed project is to construct and operate a 4.0 MW Wind Project at a site in the community of Renfrew, approximately 13 km northwest of Enfield, Nova Scotia in the Municipality of the District of East Hants. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence Summer/Fall 2014 with operations to begin Fall/Winter 2014.
Minister's Decision
On December 9, the Minister of Environment released a decision
(PDF:33k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:165k).
