McLellans Brook Wind Energy Project

Description

This is to advise that on May 6, 2013, Watts Wind Energy Inc. will register the McLellans Brook Wind Energy Project Addendum for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to develop the six megawatt community owned McLellans Brook Wind Project, located approximately 2km east of Forbes Lake and 7km south of Stellarton, Nova Scotia in the Municipality of Pictou County. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence in late 2013 with operations to begin in early 2014.

Minister's Decision

On June 25, the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:35k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. Public comments on the Registration Document were accepted until February 28, 2013.
