Kemptown Wind Project

Description

This is to advise that on October 14, 2014, Affinity Wind LP registered the Kemptown Wind Farm Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to provide 4.99 MW of wind power into the local distribution grid near Kemptown, Colchester County, NS. The Project will consist of three 1.68 MW wind turbines on privately owned land.

The Kemptown Wind Farm Project is a relocation of a previously registered project Kemptown Wind Farm. After receiving environmental assessment approval in February 2014, the Proponent decided to relocate the project. The new location is approximately 3-4 kilometers north of the original proposal.

Minister's Decision

On December 3, 2014 the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:33k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
