Waste Dangerous Goods Handling Facility Relocation

Description

This is to advise that a proposed Dangerous and Waste Dangerous Goods Facility relocation from 105-D Akerley Blvd. to 15 Williams Ave. (Burnside Industrial Park), will be registered for environmental assessment on January 28, 2010, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

Refrigerant Services Inc. provides refrigerant collection, reclamation, and disposal of surplus refrigerant and maintains a large inventory of refrigerant recovery cylinders. Additionally, Refrigerant Services Inc. is a Transport Canada Approved cylinder inspection and recertification facility providing visual and hydrostatic testing for cylinders. The company wishes to move locations in Burnside because the proposed location is larger and the floor plan and shipping and receiving doorway arrangements are more suitable for the current operations of the company.

Minister's Decision

On March 12, 2010 the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:130k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. Opportunities for Public Input

Public on the comments on the Registration Document were accepted until February 27, 2010.
