Falls Lake Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 22nd day of February, A.D., 1984, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land situate at Vaughan, in the County of Hants, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-13-46 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Falls Lake Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Falls Lake, in the Community of Vaughan, Hants County, Province of Nova Scotia shown on Plan No. E-13-46 on file in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, said lot being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a Survey Marker situated on the westerly boundary of land now or formerly of the Nova Scotia Power Corporation and being also situated 33 feet easterly from the centreline of an access road leading to Falls Lake Provincial Park picnic site, said Survey Marker’s location also defined as being S 86° 31' 20" W, 2153.10 feet from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument No. 11937;


From thence (by grid bearings referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 5, Central Meridian 64° 30' longitude west) N 28° 48' 27" E, 1323.24 feet following the westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of the Nova Scotia Power Corporation, to a post and stones situated at an angle on the southwesterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Raymond Lake;


Thence N 26° 44' 33" W, 634.47 feet following the southwesterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Raymond Lake to a post and stones;


Thence continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Raymond Lake N 26° 44' 33" W, 5 feet more or less to the ordinary high water mark of Falls Lake;


Thence in a generally southerly direction following the various courses of the ordinary high water mark of Falls Lake, 2665 feet more or less or until it meets the northwesterly boundary of a public road leading from Provincial Highway Route No. 14 to New Ross;


Thence northeasterly following the northwesterly boundary of the said public road leading from Provincial Highway Route No. 14 to New Ross, 125 feet more or less to a point 33 feet easterly from the centreline of an access road leading to Falls Lake Provincial Park picnic site;


Thence in a generally northwesterly direction following a line 33 easterly from the centreline of the said access road leading to Falls Lake Provincial Park picnic site, 600 feet more or less to the place of beginning containing 12 acres more or less.

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 22nd day of August, A.D., 1991, and pursuant to Section 8(b) of Chapter 367 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to reduce the size of Falls Lake Provincial Park by removing from the Park designation the area shown outlined in red on the plan marked Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
