Sand Point Beach Designation
made under subsection 5(1) of the
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32
O.I.C. 79-540 (May 8, 1979), N.S. Reg. 68/79
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 1st day of May, A.D.,1979, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark of Sand Point Beach, in the County of Colchester, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-11-20 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark of Sand Point Beach, in the County of Colchester, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-11-20, attached hereto and marked Schedule “B” and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an iron post situate south forty-three degrees fifty-eight minutes twenty-five seconds east, six thousand six hundred eighty-one decimal thirty-nine feet from Nova Scotia Control Monument (N.S.C.M.) No. 12663 having co-ordinate values (N 16, 502, 800.31, E 1, 106, 025.74);
From thence (by grid bearings based on the Nova Scotia Three Degree Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 5, central meridian sixty-four degrees thirty minutes west longitude) north sixty-two degrees twelve minutes nineteen seconds east, three hundred eighty-seven decimal seventy-three feet to an iron post;
Thence north twenty-five degrees forty-one minutes one second west, eighty-one decimal sixty-four feet to an iron post situate on the mean high water mark of the Minas Basin, said iron post being south forty-nine degrees seventeen minutes fifty-seven seconds west, six thousand nine hundred ten decimal eighteen feet from N.S.C.M. No. 12659 having co-ordinate values (N 16, 502, 752.55, E 1, 116, 211.21);
Thence in a northeasterly, southeasterly and southwesterly direction along the mean high water mark of the Minas Basin, two thousand one hundred forty feet, more or less, to a point;
Thence north twelve degrees thirty-five minutes twenty-three seconds west, twenty-four feet, more or less, to the place of beginning.
