Hadley Cove Beach Designation
made under subsection 5(1) of the
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32
O.I.C. 79-832 (July 10, 1979), N.S. Reg. 110/79
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 28th day of May, A.D., 1979, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Hadley Cove Beach, in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-11-31 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being “Lands Lying Landward From The Mean High Watermark Of Hadley Cove Beach”, as shown on a plan of survey number P-016/79 prepared by Province of Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forests, Surveys Division, dated February 20, 1979, being in the Community of South Manchester, County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at Nova Scotia Co-ordinate Monument Number 11004;
Thence N 83° 33' 11" E, 7068.86 feet to an iron pin, said iron pin being on the western boundary of the South Manchester Road, said pin also hereinafter referred to as the point of beginning;
Thence S 83° 33' 11" W, 5 feet more or less to the mean high watermark of Hadley Cove;
Thence southwesterly 850 feet more or less along the mean high watermark of Hadley Cove to a point;
Thence S 33° 45' 00" E, 5 feet more or less to an iron pin, said pin being S 31° 07' 04" W, 754.20 feet from the last described iron pin;
Thence continuing S 33° 45' 00" E, 70 feet more or less to a point;
Thence northeasterly parallel to and 75 feet distant from the mean high watermark of Hadley Cove to a point, said point being on the mean high watermark of the tidal pond behind Hadley Cove as shown on said plan;
Thence northeasterly 362 feet more or less along the mean high watermark of the tidal pond to a point, said point being 75 feet landward and a perpendicular distance from the mean high watermark of Hadley Cove;
Thence northeasterly 58 feet more or less parallel to and 75 feet distant from the mean high watermark of Hadley Cove to a point, said point being on the western boundary of the said South Manchester Road;
Thence northerly 124 feet more or less along the western boundary of the said South Manchester Road to the point of beginning.
All bearings are based on the Nova Scotia 3° modified transverse mercator projection, zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude.
