Moose River Gold Mines Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 86-701 (June 24, 1986), N.S. Reg. 140/86


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 19th day of June, A.D., 1986, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land situate at Moose River Gold Mines, in the County of Halifax, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Department of Lands and Forests Plan No. P-075/86 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare that the Park shall be known by the name of “Moose River Gold Mines Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Moose River Gold Mines, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, said parcel of land being shown on Plan No. P-075/86 on file in the Director of Surveys Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a point on the easterly boundary of Moose River at its intersection with the northerly boundary of a public road leading from Melville Lake to Moose River Gold Mines;


From thence in a northwesterly direction following the easterly boundary of Moose River a distance of 880 feet, more or less, to a point;


Thence N 69° 51' 10" E, 32 feet, more or less, along a southerly boundary of lands of Scott Paper Company to Survey Marker No. HX-7717;


Thence continuing N 69° 51' 10" E, 380.01 feet along the said southerly boundary of lands of Scott Paper Company to Survey Marker No. HX-7686;


Thence continuing N 69° 51' 10" E, 300.00 feet along the southerly boundary of lands of Owners Unknown to Survey Marker No. HX-7687;


Thence S 20° 08' 50" E, 447.72 feet along a westerly boundary of lands of Owners Unknown to Survey Marker No. HX-7688;


Thence N 69° 25' 00" E, 35.34 feet along a southerly boundary of lands of Owners Unknown to Survey Marker No. HX-7721;


Thence S 20° 28' 20" E, 181.22 feet along a westerly boundary of lands of Owners Unknown to Survey Marker No. HX-7720 situate on the northerly boundary of the aforementioned public road leading from Melville Lake to Moose River Gold Mines;


Thence following the northerly boundary of said road in a southwesterly direction 470 feet, more or less to Survey Marker No. HX-7719;


Thence continuing along the northerly boundary of the said road 40 feet, more or less to the place of beginning containing 10.3 acres, more or less.


All bearings are grid and referred to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude.
