St. Catherines River Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 83-504 (May 10, 1983), N.S. Reg. 82/83


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 29th day of April, A.D., 1983, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark of St. Catherines River Beach, in the County of Queens, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Lands Records Office Plan No. E-8-63 B marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark at St. Catherines River Beach, situate at South West Mouton, in the County of Queens, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-8-63B attached hereto, the said land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown Survey Post Q2168 situated near the mean high water mark of the eastern shore of Port Joli;


From thence (by astronomic bearing) N 72° 35' 00" E, a distance of 206.828 metres more or less to a point;


Thence (by grid bearings referred to the Nova Scotia 3° modified transverse mercator projection, zone 5, central meridian 64° 30' west longitude) S 00° 11' 39" E, a distance of 885.005 metres to a point;

 

Thence S 32° 10' 16" E, a distance of 366.230 metres to a point;


Thence S 74° 49' 37" E, a distance of 305.655 metres to a point;


Thence S 40° 54' 09" E, a distance of 969.801 metres to a point;

Thence in a southwesterly, southerly and northwesterly direction following the various courses of the mean high water mark of Little Joli Bay and Black Point 5100 metres to a point;


Thence S 58° 6' 02" W, a distance of 90 metres more or less to a point on the mean high water mark of the northwestern shore of St. Catherines River Bay;


Thence in a westerly, southwesterly and northerly direction following the various courses of the mean high water mark of the shore of St. Catherines River Bay, Joli Point, Birch Cove and Port Joli 9100 metres to a point;


Thence (by astronomic bearing) N 72° 35' 00" E, a distance of 4 metres more or less to the place of beginning.
