Jersey Cove Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated the 12th day of July, A.D., 1993, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 32 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Beaches Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Jersey Cove, in the County of Victoria, as described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in bold line on the copy of Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre Plan No. E-15-36 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Jersey Cove in the County of Victoria, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on a Plan of Survey (Field plot No. P-134/92-1) signed on the 10th day of November, A.D. 1992 by Athol C. Grant, Nova Scotia Land Surveyor and filed in the Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre, Dartmouth, as Plan No. E-15-36, the said lot of land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Survey Marker V3873 situate (by grid azimuths referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, Central Meridian 61° 30' West Longitude) 167°-04'-38", a distance of 165.799 metres from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument (NSCM) No. 15540 having coordinate values of 5 130 800.535 in northing and 4 573 482.782 metres in easting;


Thence (from the place of beginning) 187° 43' 42", a distance of 401.801 metres to Survey Marker V3872;


Thence southerly along the mean high watermark of Jersey Cove, a distance of 240 metres, more or less to Survey Marker V3871;


Thence 95° 06' 41", a distance of 3.872 metres to Survey Marker V3870 located on the western boundary of Highway No. 312;


Thence 176° 04 18", along the western boundary of Highway No. 312 a distance of 31.500 metres to Survey Marker V3431;


Thence 175° 56' 52", along the western boundary of Highway No. 312 a distance of 24.383 metres to Survey Marker V3434;


Thence 175° 56' 59", along the western boundary of Highway No. 312 a distance of 171.563 metres to Survey Marker V3869;


Thence 175° 57' 53", along the western boundary of Highway No. 312 a distance of 31.574 metres to Survey Marker V3866;


Thence 270° 31' 41," a distance of 18.124 metres to Survey Marker V3867;


Thence Southerly, easterly, and northerly along the mean high water mark of Jersey Cove a distance of 3,220 metres more or less to Survey Marker V3865;


Thence 115° 03' 22", a distance of 52.344 metres to Survey Marker V3864;


Thence northerly along the mean high water mark of St. Ann’s Bay a distance of 2,390 metres, more or less to a point;


Thence 277° 43' 42", a distance of 7 metres more or less to the place of beginning;


Above lot of land containing an area of 22 hectares more or less.


Excepting and reserving therefrom all that portion of public highway No. 312 situate with the boundaries of the above described land.
