US CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, OCTOBER 2018

The US Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 0.3 per cent in October (seasonally adjusted growth from September). This month, gasoline, as well as shelter, used cars and trucks, and electricity were the main contributors to the rise in consumer prices.      

Year over year (October 2018 compared to October 2017) consumer prices were up 2.5 per cent (not seasonally adjusted) as energy prices continue to drive inflation. The all items less food and energy index rose 2.1 per cent, year over year.
