August 10, 2018US CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JULY 2018 The US Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 0.2 per cent in July (seasonally adjusted growth from June). This month, shelter cost increases contributed substantially to the rise in US prices.
Year over year (July 2018 compared to July 2017) consumer prices were up 2.9 per cent (not seasonally adjusted) as energy prices continue to drive inflation. The all items less food and energy index rose 2.4 per cent, year over year.
