CANADA INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE TRADE JANUARY 2018

 

In January 2018, Canadian merchandise trade (balance of payments basis, seasonally adjusted) posted a $1.9 billion deficit. 

Exports are down 2.1% over December 2017 to $45.8 billion, and decreased 1.5 percent over January 2017. Imports decreased by 4.3 per cent from December 2017 to $47.8 billion and increased 2.0% over January 2017.

 

 

  

Year-to-date

In Canada January 2018, the total merchandise trade deficit reached $1.9 billion. Year to date goods exports were valued at $45.8 billion and year-to-date goods imports were valued at $47.7 billion.
