Month-over-month (January 2025 vs February 2025, seasonally adjusted)
The United Kingdom (UK) goods and services trade surplus declined by £2.3 billion to a deficit of £2.0 billion. Exports of goods and services increased 0.2% (£0.1 billion) to £76.2 billion while imports of goods and services were up 3.2% (£2.4 billion) to £78.2 billion.
The UK goods trade deficit grew by £2.6 billion to £20.8 billion. Exports of goods from the UK were unchanged at £30.8 billion. Imports of goods to the UK increased 5.2% (£2.6 billion) to £51.6 billion.
The UK services trade surplus increased by £0.3 billion to £18.9 billion. Exports of services from the UK increased 0.4% (£0.2 billion) to £45.5 billion while imports of services to the UK decreased 0.6% (£0.2 billion) to £26.6 billion.


The UK goods trade deficit with the European Union (EU) grew by £1.4 billion to £12.2 billion. Exports of goods from the UK to the EU remained unchanged at £14.0 billion while imports of goods from the EU to the UK increased by 5.6% (£1.4 billion) to £26.2 billion.
The UK trade deficit with countries outside the EU grew by £1.2 billion to £8.6 billion. Exports from the UK to countries outside the EU remained unchanged at £16.8 billion while imports to the UK from non-EU countries increased 4.9% (£1.2 billion) to £25.3 billion.


Year-over-year (February 2025 vs February 2024)
The UK goods and services trade deficit widened by £1.7 billion. The goods deficit widened by £5.1 billion while the services surplus widened by £3.4 billion.
Goods exports were down 3.6% year-over-year (£1.1 billion) while goods imports were up 8.3% (£4.0 billion). Services exports were up 9.5% (£4.0 billion) while services imports were up 2.2% (£0.6 billion).
Compared with the same month a year earlier, the UK goods trade deficit with the EU widened by £0.5 billion (exports down 3.2% or £0.5 billion, imports up 0.3% or £0.1 billion). The UK goods trade deficit with non EU countries widened by £4.6 billion (exports down 3.9% or £0.7 billion, imports up 18.1% or £3.9 billion).
