December 02, 2024EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, OCTOBER 2024 
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area was unchanged at 6.3% in October 2024. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.9% in October 2024.
In October, youth unemployment rates declined to 15.2% from 15.3% in September in the European Union and up to 15.0% from 14.9% in September in the Euro Area. The unemployment rate for females in the European Union was unchanged at 6.1% in October while the male unemployment rate was down to 5.7%. The Euro Area unemployment rate for females was stable at 6.5% in October 2024 while the unemployment rate for males was also stable at 6.1% compared to previous month.
Among EU member state economies, the October unemployment rates were highest in Spain and Greece. Unemployment rate was lowest in Czechia.
