CANADA'S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS Q3 2024

Quarter-over-quarter (all countries, seasonally adjusted, Q3 2024 vs. Q2 2024)

Canada's current account receipts increased $2.5 billion to $315.8 billion while current account payments increased $1.0 billion to $319.0 billion. The resulting net current account deficit narrowed by $1.5 billion to $3.2 billion.

Goods exports were down $0.8 billion to $191.8 billion while goods imports were down $0.7 billion to $195.4 billion. As a result, the goods deficit balance expanded to $3.6 billion.

Services exports were down $0.4 billion to $54.7 billion while services imports increased $1.0 billion to $54.3 billion. The services surplus narrowed by $1.5 billion to $0.5 billion.

Primary income receipts increased $3.7 billion to $63.9 billion while primary income payments increased $0.2 billion to $62.7 billion. The primary income changed from a deficit to a surplus of $1.2 billion.

Secondary income receipts increased $0.01 billion to $5.3 billion while secondary income payments increased by $0.5 billion to $6.6 billion. The resulting net secondary income deficit grew by $0.5 billion to $1.3 billion.
