US construction spending decreased 0.3% to $2,148.4 billion.
- Total residential construction decreased 0.4% to $939.8 billion.
- Total non-residential construction spending decreased 0.2% to $1,208.6 billion.
- Private sector construction decreased 0.3% to $1,664.6 billion.
- Public sector construction decreased 0.4% to $483.9 billion.
Private residential construction decreased 0.3% to $928.0 billion, while private non-residential construction spending decreased 0.1% to $736.6 billion.
Public residential construction decreased 2.0% to $11.8 billion, while public non-residential construction spending decreased 0.4% to $472.0 billion.
Year-to-date (January-June 2024 vs January-June 2023)
US construction spending increased 8.4%.
- Total residential construction increased 8.0%.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 8.7%.
- Private sector construction increased 7.4%.
