UK TRADE BALANCE, FEBRUARY 2024

Month-over-month (February 2024 vs January 2024, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit widened by £0.1 billion to £2.3 billion. Exports of goods and services decreased 0.1% (£0.1 billion) to £71.1 billion and imports of goods and services were unchanged at £73.4 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit widened by £0.1 billion to £14.2 billion. Exports of goods decreased 0.8% (£0.3 billion) to £31.6 billion and imports of goods decreased 0.3% (£0.1 billion) to £45.8 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.03 billion to £11.9 billion. Exports of services increased 0.4% (£0.2 billion) to £39.6 billion and imports of services increased 0.5% (£0.1 billion) to £27.6 billion.

 

Year-over-year (February 2024 vs February 2023, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services deficit narrowed by £0.881 billion. The goods trade deficit narrowed by £2.447 billion and the services trade surplus narrowed by £1.566 billion.

 

 

 

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

Month-over-month (February 2024 vs January 2024, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.6 billion to £11.3 billion. Exports of goods decreased by £0.3 billion to £14.7 billion and imports of goods increased by £0.3 billion to £26.0 billion.

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.4 billion to £2.9 billion. Exports of goods increased 0.3% (£0.05 billion) to £16.9 billion and imports of goods decreased by 2.0% (£0.4 billion) to £19.8 billion.

 

Year-over-year (February 2024 vs February 2023, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom-EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.4 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £2.8 billion.
