April 03, 2024EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, FEBRUARY 2024
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area has remained unchanged at 6.5% in February 2024. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate also remained unchanged at 6.0% in February 2024.
In February, youth unemployment rates edged down to 14.8% in the European Union and remained stable at 14.6% in the Euro Area. Unemployment rate for females in the European Union was 6.4% while the male unemployment rate was 5.7%. Euro Area unemployment rate for females was 6.9% in February 2024 while the Euro Area unemployment rate for males was 6.1%.
Among EU member state economies, the February unemployment rates were highest in Spain and Greece. Unemployment rates were lowest in Czechia and Poland.
