January 19, 2024UK RETAIL SALES, DECEMBER AND ANNUAL 2023 The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales value as well as retail sales volume declined in December 2023.
Month over month (December 2023 vs November 2023)
Retail sales values decreased by 3.6% and volumes (adjusted to remove the effects of price changes) declined 3.2%.
Internet sales decreased by 1.7% and accounted for 27.1% of total retail sales.
Year-over-Year (December 2023 vs December 2022)
Retail sales values increased 0.6% while retail sales volumes decreased 2.4%.
Annual (2023 vs 2022)
Retail sales values increased 3.2% and retail sales volumes decreased 2.8%.
