JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, SEPTEMBER 2023

Month-over-month (September 2023 vs August 2023)

The current account surplus widened by ¥508 billion to ¥2,011 billion.

  • goods deficit narrowed by ¥305 billion to ¥131 billion.
  • services deficit narrowed by ¥214 billion to ¥395 billion.
  • primary income surplus widened by ¥76 billion to ¥2,920 billion.
  • secondary income deficit widened by ¥87 billion to ¥383 billion.

 

The net goods deficit narrowed by ¥305 billion to ¥131 billion.

  • goods exports increased ¥508 billion to ¥8,706 billion.
  • goods imports increased ¥203 billion to ¥8,837 billion.
