UK TRADE BALANCE, JULY 2023

Month-over-month (July 2023 vs June 2023, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £1.3 billion to £3.4 billion. Exports of goods and services increased 1.8% (£1.2 billion) to £67.6 billion and imports of goods and services decreased 0.2% (£0.1 billion) to £71.0 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit narrowed by £1.4 billion to £14.1 billion. Exports of goods increased 3.7% (£1.2 billion) to £33.1 billion and imports of goods decreased 0.4% (£0.2 billion) to £47.2 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus decreased by 0.5% (£0.05 billion) to £10.6 billion. Exports of services increased 0.1% (£0.02 billion) to £34.4 billion and imports of services increased 0.3% (£0.07 billion) to £23.8 billion.

 

Year-over-year (July 2023 vs July 2022, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £2.3 billion. Goods trade deficit narrowed by £3.8 billion and services trade surplus narrowed by £1.6 billion.

 

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

Month-over-month (July 2023 vs June 2023, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit decreased by £1.0 billion to £11.7 billion. Exports of goods increased by £0.5 billion to £15.3 billion and imports of goods decreased by £0.5 billion to £27.0 billion.

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.4 billion to £2.4 billion. Exports of goods increased 4.0% (£0.7 billion) to £17.9 billion and imports of goods grew by 1.4% (£0.3 billion) to £20.2 billion.

 

Year-over-year (July 2023 vs July 2022, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom-EU goods trade deficit widened by £3.1 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £6.9 billion.
