US TRADE BALANCE, OCTOBER 2022

Month over month (October 2022 vs September 2022)

The US net trade deficit widened by $4.0 billion to $78.2 billion. The net goods deficit widened by $6.1 billion to $99.6 billion. The net services surplus widened by $2.1 billion to $21.4 billion.

 

Total exports decreased $1.9 billion to $256.6 billion. Exports of goods decreased $3.7 billion to $176.0 billion. Exports of services increased $1.8 billion to $80.6 billion.

Total imports increased $2.2 billion to $334.8 billion. Imports of goods increased $2.4 billion to $275.6 billion. Imports of services decreased $0.2 billion to $59.2 billion.

 

Year over year (October 2022 vs October 2021)

The US net trade deficit widened by -$10.0 billion. The net goods deficit widened by -$13.4 billion. The net services surplus widened by $3.3 billion.

Total exports increased $30.7 billion. Exports of goods increased $18.4 billion. Exports of services increased $12.4 billion.

Total imports increased $40.7 billion. Imports of goods increased $31.7 billion. Imports of services increased $9.0 billion.
