UK RETAIL SALES, SEPTEMBER 2022

The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales value and volume declined for the second month in a row in September 2022.

Month over month (September 2022 vs August 2022)

Retail sales declined 1.4% in both value and volume (adjusted for price changes) terms.

Internet sales increased by 1.2% and accounted for 26.4% of total retail sales.

Year-over-year (September 2022 vs September 2021)

Retail sales values increased 3.8% while retail sales volumes decreased 6.9%.

Year-to-date (Jan-Sep 2022 vs Jan-Sep 2021)

Retail sales values increased 8.0% and retail sales volumes decreased 1.8%.
