CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, SEPTEMBER 2022

YEAR-OVER-YEAR (September 2022 vs September 2021)

All items (index 2002=100)

Consumer prices in Nova Scotia increased 7.3%. The national average was 6.9%. In Halifax consumer prices increased 7.3%.

Excluding food and energy (index 2002=100)

Nova Scotia consumer prices increased 5.1%. This was lower than the national average increase of 5.4%.

 

MONTH-OVER-MONTH (September 2022 vs August 2022)

All items (index 2002=100)

Consumer prices in Nova Scotia declined 0.3%. This was the below the national average increase of 0.1%. In Halifax consumer prices declined 0.3%.

Excluding food and energy (index 2002=100)

Nova Scotia consumer prices increased 0.1%. This was lower than the national average increase of 0.3%.
