JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, JULY 2022

Current Account (July 2022 vs June 2022)

The net current account changed from a surplus (8,383 billion yen) to a deficit (6,290 billion yen).

  • The net goods and services deficit widened by 5,940 billion yen to 24,260 billion yen.
  • The net primary income surplus narrowed by 8,072 billion yen to 20,363 billion yen.
  • The net secondary income deficit widened by 661 billion yen to 2,393 billion yen.

 

 Trade Balance (July 2022 vs June 2022)

The net goods deficit widened by 2,222 billion yen to 18,087 billion yen.

  • The goods exports increased 651 billion yen to 84,830 billion yen.
  • The goods imports increased 2,873 billion yen to 102,917 billion yen.

 

The net services deficit widened by 3,718 billion yen to 6,173 billion yen.
