CENSUS MILITARY SERVICE, 2021

Today's release of 2021 Census results reports the number of serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

In the population (aged 17+) counted in the 2021 Census, there were 9,810 serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces in Nova Scotia.  This amounted to 1.23% of the population count for this age group.  Nova Scotia had by far the largest portion of serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces in its population, followed by New Brunswick.  Across Canada, 0.33% of the population aged 17+ were serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, with the lowest share in Saskatchewan.
