The US net trade deficit widened by $20.0 billion to $109.8 billion. The net goods deficit widened by $20.4 billion to $128.1 billion and the net services surplus widened by $0.4 billion to $18.3 billion.
Total exports increased 5.6% (+$12.9 billion) to $241.7 billion. Exports of goods increased 7.3% (+$11.6 billion) to $170.7 billion. Exports of services increased 1.8% (+$1.2 billion) to $71.1 billion.
Total imports increased 10.3% (+$32.9 billion) to $351.5 billion. Imports of goods increased 12.0% (+$32.0 billion) to $298.8 billion. Imports of services increased 1.7% (+$0.9 billion) to $52.7 billion.
Year over year (Mar 2022 vs. Mar 2021)
The US net trade deficit widened by $38.4 billion. The net goods deficit widened by $35.8 billion and the net services surplus narrowed by $2.7 billion.
Total exports increased 17.7% (+$36.4 billion). Exports of goods increased 18.7% (+$26.9 billion). Exports of services increased 15.4% (+$9.5 billion).
Total imports increased 27.0% (+$74.8 billion). Imports of goods increased 26.5% (+$62.6 billion). Imports of services increased 30.0% (+$12.2 billion).
