EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, SEPTEMBER 2021

Month over month (Sep 2021 vs Aug 2021, seasonally adjusted)

The European Central Bank reported today that the Euro Area (EA19) Current account surplus widened by €1,664 million to €18.7 billion

  • Exports of goods and services increased €5.8 billion to €290.8 billion
  • Imports of goods and services decreased €3.0 billion to €264.0 billion

As a result, Net trade surplus widened by €8,845 million to €26.8 billion

Net Goods surplus narrowed by €2,077 million to €16.5 billion

  • Goods exports increased €2,382 million to €206.9 billion
  • Goods Imports increased €4,460 million to €190.4 billion

Net Services surplus changed from a deficit (€548 billion) to a surplus of €10,374 billion.

Net Primary Income surplus widened by €2,215 million to €6.9 billion

Net Secondary Income deficit widened by €9,394 million to €15.0 billion
