Month-over-month (Aug 2021 vs Jul 2021, seasonally adjusted )
The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit widened by £0.8 billion to £3.7 billion. Exports of goods and services decreased 2.0% (£1.0 billion) to £49.8 billion. Imports of goods and services decreased 0.5% (£0.3 billion) to £53.5 billion.
The United Kingdom goods trade deficit widened by £0.8 billion to £14.9 billion. Exports of goods decreased 4.6% (£1.3 billion) to £25.8 billion. Imports of goods decreased 1.0% (£0.4 billion) to £40.7 billion.
The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.1 billion to £11.2 billion. Exports of services increased 0.9% (£0.2 billion) to £24.0 billion. Imports of services increased 1.2% (£0.2 billion) to £12.8 billion.

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit changed from a surplus (£1.2 billion) to a deficit (£3.7 billion), the goods trade deficit widened by £5.5 billion, and the services trade surplus widened by £0.6 billion.

Month-over-month (Aug 2021 vs Jul 2021, seasonally adjusted )
The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.5 billion to £6.5 billion. Exports of goods decreased 4.3% (£0.6 billion) to £12.8 billion. Imports of goods decreased 0.1% (£0.03 billion) to £19.3 billion.
The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.3 billion to £8.4 billion. Exports of goods decreased 5.0% (£0.7 billion) to £13.0 billion. Imports of goods decreased 1.8% (£0.4 billion) to £21.4 billion.
Year-over-year (Aug 2021 vs Aug 2020, seasonally adjusted )
The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.3 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £5.9 billion.
