Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Canada increased 0.7% in June 2021, following a 0.5% decline recorded in May 2021. The monthly increase was due to expansion both in service-producing industries (+0.7%) and goods-producing industries (+0.9%). Overall, 15 of 20 industries were up.

Goods-Producing Industries

Goods-producing sector output rose 0.9% month-over-month in June 2021. Mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction increased 1.7% in June with gains in all three sub-sectors. Oil and gas subsector increased 2.1% in June posting the third gain in the last four months.
