EU AND EURO AREA GDP, Q2 2021 [FLASH]

In the preliminary flash GDP estimate  for Q2 2021, EuroStats estimates the seasonally adjusted annualized rate growth rate for European Union (EU27) was 8.0% and 8.3% for the Euro Area (EA19). Growth picked up in both regions from declines in the previous two quarters. Compared to Q2 2020, EU27 GDP is 13.2% larger and EA19 GDP is 13.7% larger.

Compared to the pre-pandemic Q4 2019 GDP, the European Union economy was 2.6% smaller and the Euro Area economy was 3.0% smaller in Q2 2021.
