EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, MARCH 2021

Euro Area unemployment rate was 8.1% in March 2021, a decline from the previous month. The unemployment rate in the Euro Area was up from 7.1% in March 2020.

For the broader European Union (27 countries), unemployment rate edged down to 7.3% in March 2021. This was up from 6.4% in March 2020.

Among major European economies, the unemployment rate was highest in Greece (15.8% in Dec 2020) and Spain (15.3%). The lowest unemployment rates were recorded in Poland (3.1%) and Czechia (3.2%).
