March 17, 2021EU AND EURO AREA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, FEBRUARY 2021 Year-over-year (Feb 2021 vs Feb 2020)
The inflation rate moved up to 1.3% in the European Union and moved up to 0.9% in the Euro Area.
Among member states, the fastest inflation was reported in Poland, Hungary and Romania while the lowest inflation was reported in Cyprus, Slovenia and Greece. Annual inflation increased in 20 member states and declined in 7 member states.
Food price inflation moved down to 0.8% in the European Union and moved down to 0.8% in the Euro Area.
Energy inflation moved up to -1.1% in the European Union and moved up to -1.7% in the Euro Area.
Excluding the impacts of volatile energy, food, alcohol and tobacco prices inflation moved down to 1.5% in the European Union and moved down to 1.1% in the Euro Area.
