YEAR-OVER-YEAR (May 2020 vs May 2019)
In Nova Scotia May 2020, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) (index 2002=100) decreased 0.9 per cent over May 2019. The CPI excluding food and energy increased 0.9 per cent over May 2019.
In Canada May 2020, the CPI decreased 0.4 per cent over May 2019. The CPI excluding food and energy increased 0.6 per cent over May 2019.
In Halifax May 2020, the CPI decreased 0.7 per cent over May 2019.
MONTH-OVER-MONTH (May 2020 vs Apr 2020)
In Nova Scotia May 2020, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) (index 2002=100) decreased 0.1 per cent from April 2020. The CPI excluding food and energy decreased 0.2 per cent from April 2020.
In Canada May 2020, the CPI increased 0.3 per cent from April 2020. The CPI excluding food and energy decreased 0.2 per cent from April 2020.
In Halifax May 2020, the CPI decreased 0.1 per cent from April 2020.
