May 15, 2020EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, MARCH 2020 EURO AREA
In March 2020, the Euro Area (EA19) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €28.2 billion compared to February 2020.
From February 2020 to March 2020
- The Euro Area (EA19) Export Trade increased €4.6 billion (2.5%) to €193.3 billion.
- The Euro Area (EA19) Import Trade increased €0.1 billion (0.1%) to €165.0 billion.
EUROPEAN UNION
In March 2020, the European Union (EU27, now excluding the UK) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world recorded a surplus of €22.2 billion
From February 2020 to March 2020:
- The European Union (EU27) Export Trade decreased €3.2 billion (-1.9%) to €167.4 billion.
- The European Union (EU27) Import Trade decreased €2.7 billion (-1.9%) to €145.2 billion.
The UK left the European Union as of January 31, 2020. In March 2020, the European Union (EU27) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) United Kingdom recorded a surplus of €11.4 billion.
From February 2020 to March 2020:
- The European Union (EU27) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United Kingdom decreased €3.2 billion (4.5%) to €25.9 billion.
- The European Union (EU27) Import Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United Kingdom decreased €3.2 billion (-7%) to €14.5 billion.
In March 2020, the European Union (EU27) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada recorded a surplus of €1.3 billion. In March 2020, the European Union (EU27) Goods Trade (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States recorded a surplus of €13.8 billion.
