NEW HOUSING PRICE INDEX, NOVEMBER 2019

In November 2019, the price of new housing was unchanged in Nova Scotia compared to the previous month, while the national index decreased 0.1 per cent. 

In Nova Scotia, new housing prices were 0.9 per cent higher than they were in November 2018. National new housing prices declined 0.1 per cent, year over year.                                                                                            

Year to date, Nova Scotia new housing prices were up 0.7 per cent in the first eleven months of 2019.  National new housing prices were down 0.1 per cent in January-November 2019 compared to January-November 2018.  Quebec saw the fastest growth in new housing prices at 2.7 per cent. The largest decline was in Saskatchewan where new housing prices fell 1.6 per cent compared to the first eleven months of 2018.

Census Metropolitan Areas

Year to date, price growth among Census Metropolitan Areas was fastest in Ottawa,Montreal, London, and Windsor.  New housing prices declined the most in Regina, Calgary and Vancouver.
