June 11, 2019UK LABOUR FORCE SURVEY, FEBRUARY TO APRIL 2019
The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period February to April 2019 was 3.8 per cent, the same as during the previous three month period and 0.4 percentage points lower than at the same time last year. The UK unemployment rate has not been lower since October to December 1974.
The reduction in the UK unemployment rate observed over the last 5-6 years has resulted from rising employment outpacing the growth in the labour force.
