US TRADE BALANCE, MARCH 2019

In March 2019,  US Goods and Services trade deficit increased by $0.7 billion to $50.0 billion. The goods trade deficit widened by $0.5 billion to $72.4 billion. The services trade surplus decreased by $0.2 billion to $22.4 billion.

Monthly exports increased by $2.1 billon to $212.0 billion. Goods exports were up $2.0 billion to $141.7 billion, and services exports increased by $37 million to $70.3 billion.

US imports were up $2.8 billion to $262.0 billion, reflecting a $2.5 billion increase to $214.1 billion in goods imports and a $0.2 billion increase to $47.8 billion in services imports.

On a year-to-date basis, the US trade deficit narrowed by $5.8 billion to $150.4 billion. The goods trade deficit narrowed by $5.7 billion to $217.5 billion. The services trade surplus widened by $0.1 billion to $67.1 billion.
