April 01, 2019EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, FEBRUARY 2019
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area remained at 7.8 per cent in February, level with last month and down from 8.5 per cent in February 2018. For the broader European Union, the unemployment remained at 6.5 per cent this month, down from 7.1 per cent a year ago.
Among major European economies, the unemployment rate was highest in Greece (18.0 per cent in December), Spain (13.9 per cent), and Italy (10.7%). Unemployment rates were lowest in Czechia (Czech Republic, 1.9 per cent), and Germany (3.1 per cent).
