US TRADE BALANCE, DECEMBER AND ANNUAL 2018

DECEMBER 2018 

In December 2018, US Goods and Services trade deficit widened by $9.5 billion to $59.8 billion. The goods trade deficit widened by $9.0 billion to $81.5 billion. The services trade surplus narrowed by $0.5 billion to $21.8 billion.

Monthly exports declined by $3.9 billion to $205.1 billion. Goods exports declined $3.9 billion to $135.6 billion, and services exports declined $32 million to $69.5 billion.

US imports were increased $5.5 billion to $264.9 billion. Goods imports increased $5.1 billion to $217.2 billion, and imports of services increased $452 million to $47.7 billion.

 

ANNUAL

In 2018, the annual US trade deficit widened by $68.8 billion to $621.0 billion. The goods trade deficit widened by $83.8 billion to $891.2 billion. The services trade surplus widened by $15.0 billion. to $270.2 billion.
