NEW MOTOR VEHICLE SALES, JANUARY-NOVEMBER 2018

Year-to-date

In Nova Scotia Jan-Nov 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 10.0% over Jan-Nov 2017. The 50,210 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Nov 2018 represent a sales value of $1,817.5 million, down 8.2% over Jan-Nov 2017.

In Canada Jan-Nov 2018, New Motor Vehicles Unit Sales decreased 1.6% over Jan-Nov 2017. The 1,917,547 new motor vehicles sold in Jan-Nov 2018 represent a sales value of $80.1 billion, up 2.6% over Jan-Nov 2017.

 

Country of Manufacturer

In Nova Scotia Jan-Nov 2018,

• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Unit Sales decreased 14.3% (73.6% share) over Jan-Nov 2017.
• North American manufactured new motor vehicles Sales Value decreased 11.8% (76.3% share) over Jan-Nov 2017.

In Nova Scotia Jan-Nov 2018,

• for New Motor Vehicles manufactured overseas, Unit Sales increased 4.7% (26.4% share) over Jan-Nov 2017.
• for New Motor Vehicles manufactured overseas, Sales Value increased 5.8% (23.7% share) over Jan-Nov 2017.

 

 

Passenger Cars and Trucks

In Nova Scotia Jan-Nov 2018,

• passenger car Unit Sales decreased 15.9% (33.1% share) to 16,623 units over Jan-Nov 2017.
• passenger car Sales Value decreased 15.9% (24.3% share) to $441 million over Jan-Nov 2017

In Nova Scotia Jan-Nov 2018,

• truck Unit Sales decreased 6.8% (66.9% share) to 33,587 units over Jan-Nov 2017.
• truck Sales Value decreased 5.4% (75.7% share) to $1,376 million over Jan-Nov 2017.

 

Average Prices

In Nova Scotia Jan-Nov 2018,

• the new motor vehicles average price increased 2.0% to $36,198 over Jan-Nov 2017.
• the passenger car average price remained virtually unchanged  at $26,541 over Jan-Nov 2017.
• the truck average price increased 1.5% to $40,978 over Jan-Nov 2017.

In Canada Jan-Nov 2018, the new motor vehicles average price increased 4.3% to $41,772 over Jan-Nov 2017.
